In searching for a comparable sequence in
GenBank, we found a sequence incorrectly labeled
"Limacella illinita," which is very close to
the
present one (MK412355)—with a single G/R difference,
which is a "positive" match although not an
identity. "R" = "A or G".
The present collection was originally thought to
belong to
a red-staining specimen of the same species.
Tne next nearest sequence in GenBank is
Zhuliangomyces sp-L-CO01 at a genetic
distance
of 12.88 - 14.09%—76 differences of which 55
are gaps to 105 differences of which 68 are
gaps.
