The mushroom was found growing on the soil of a tropical rainforest, subgregariously. Amanita silvatica was originally described from the state of Quintana Roo (Mexico) near the Caribbean Sea coast. In the original description, comparison to A. elata (Massee) Corner & Bas is suggested, however the evidence given does not suggest a close relationship.—R. E. Tulloss and L. Possiel |
