discussion
From a molecular point of view, the species share the
nrLSU 5' motif of the provisional "subsection
Penetratrics. Within this group the species
with the shortest genetic distance to A. pastorino
found to date is over 5%—A. trygonion.
The marked umbo of the present species is similar to
that found on A. penetratrix.
The single nrITS derived from the first specimen of
this species suggests that the nrDNA repeat (or
cistron) is an unhomogenized product of infraspecific
hybridization. The ITS1 and ITS2 regions of the
nrITS sequence produced apparently good quality data
in the Sanger process; however, a conservative
description of the
5.8S gene required specification of
ambiguities.
